After Twenty Five years of successful work in the corporate world Jean retired due to health reasons. While searching for an exercise program that was good for her body and mind she found yoga. Jean's been practicing since 1999 and teaching since 2013. Her teacher training began in 2013 at "The Seattle School of Yoga" a "BKS Inyengar" school based on proper form and alignment in the body; the use of props and helping people of all types to achieve comfort in a pose. Jean completed her "Advanced Yoga Training" thru "Three Trees Yoga" in Federal Way, WA in 2018. She continues to self study and grow through her own practice.
You will find Jeans' classes to be personal, gentle, latent with humor, safe and satisfying...

WHY WOULD I WANT TO TAKE A PRIVATE YOGA SESSION?
For New Students
As a new student you may be intimidated by the public classroom environment. Private sessions allow teachers the opportunity to focus on you and make sure you are getting off to an appropriate start. Private yoga instruction can help you integrate into public classroom instruction but many students will choose to continue with private classroom instruction for the personal "hands-on".
For Experienced Students
Experienced students can benefit from Private Sessions too! Am I breathing correctly? Which posture have I always wanted to do? Which posture gives me the most trouble? In a Private Session, you are able to gain a deeper insight into specific postures or category of postures that interest you! Private Yoga Sessions are the perfect learning environment! Our teacher can help you with posture alignment modifications and give the experienced student time to learn about such things as meditation and breathing techniques (pranayama)
For Those Working With an Injury or Facing a Health Challenge
Private Yoga Sessions can help you practice yoga safely and promote safe healing. Learn how to adapt yoga to your needs from our knowledgeable teacher. Yoga can help you manage health conditions and possibly reduce symptoms. Your teacher can give you poses to work from at home to meet your specific needs. From fibromyalgia, basic back care to stress reduction, self care private sessions adapt the practice of yoga to meet the needs of people looking to mange and alleviate pain and suffering. If you are facing a health challenge, our teacher loves to help manage your condition, reduce your symptoms and improve your quality of life.
WHAT IF I'M NEW TO EXERCISE, CAN'T TOUCH MY TOES OR HAVE A PHYSICAL CHALLENGE?
That's OK. "I'm not flexible!" is the most common thing we hear from new students. You don't have to be able to tie yourself into a pretzel to enjoy yoga practice. Yoga is non-competitive and everyone is encouraged to practice at their own pace and listen to their body's messages. It's not about doing the pose perfectly, it's about receiving the benefits of the pose in a way that serves your body as it is today. It is often the tight, inflexible body that receives the benefits most quickly from yoga.
Please be sure to arrive about 10 minutes early for your first session for paperwork and an opportunity to review it with the teacher. ~ Namaste Friends
